A Wife’s Lament

Some males get wrapped so tight

In sports - whichever one’s in sight.

They’re deaf and blind to what’s around

And hear, cannot but sporting sound.

I’ve given this a lot of thought

And wondered if I ought, or not

When at the time I breathe my last

To let my spouse know I have passed.

However strange that it may be

I’m sure the only way he’ll see

That little notice - just a bit

Is on the sports page - my Obit!
